Auditory Bombardment

Damien took something caled a Hodson Speech Test the other day. Not sure of the results but it will be interesting to see. Next week the Speech Path will start something called auditory bombardment. I believe how this works is she will focus on one sound each week to see if we can get anything other then a vowel sound out of him. Basically drill letter sounds into his little brain if you will. We'll see.

Words at 28 months:
Yes, uh uh, dis, hi, yeah, ha ha, uh oh, mamma, dadda, boo, cheese, whoa,

My oldest boy Joey will be 6 next month and HAS a severe speech delay and also HAD some fine/gross motor delays which we seemed to have overcome (fingers crossed that it's true) and HAS socialization issues. He's also shown 'features' of PDD although we haven't found a psych who'll assess him at this point. Their thoughts are that he could outgrow these delays and they don't want to 'label him for life'.
But what do you do as a parent? If he's autistic then maybe there's better programs out there for him. But then again, what if this is just a stage that he'll outgrow?
Gah, I never thought being a parent would be easy but at the same time I never imagined it would be so difficult either.
